Tunisia’s Economic growth to stand at 2.3% in 2017

Tunisia’s economy grew at an estimated annual rate of 1.0% in 2016 (2.0% excluding agriculture and fisheries) compared to 1.1% in 2015 (0.1% excluding agriculture). Growth in 2016 was driven mainly by the tradable services sector and the non-tradable activities sector, which grew each by 2.7% as well as the manufacturing industries sector (+0.9%). Tunisian regulator boosts mobile internet safeguards

The Tunisian telecoms authority INT (Instance Nationale des Telecommunications) has published a new ruling concerning how mobile operators can commercialise their data tariffs in the consumer market. The new rules, which modify and complement previous measures published in 2014, aim to protect consumers by imposing greater transparency in the way pricing information is advertised and on the conditions of the offers. Dates: Tunisia registers rise in exports, foreign currency earnings

The dates exported early this season (October 1, 2016 to April 13, 2017) have increased by 15% compared to the same period of the previous year.  Foreign currency earnings from these exports also grew 40%. The quantities of dates exported reached 75.1 thousand tonnes with a value of 396.7 million dinars (MD) against 65.6 thousand tonnes with a value of 286.5 MD during the same period of the past season.
