Tunisia is following with concern the developments in the Gulf region and hopes for a speedy resolution of the crisis, Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui said on Monday.

Jhinaoui was reacting to the decision of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt to cut diplomatic ties with Qatar.

“The Arab Gulf states must overcome their differences and reach a mutually beneficial solution,” he told a joint press conference in Tunis with his Palestinian counterpart Riyad Al-Maliki.

He added: “the Arab world has many problems. Tunisia does not want so much division and crises “.
