Strengthening the competiveness of local enterprises in Tunisia and their integration in wider markets, the EBRD is providing a financial package to Union Internationale de Banques (UIB), a subsidiary of Société Générale. The package consists of a €40 million loan for on-lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and a US$ 10 million trade finance line, according to EBRD. Tunisia: most detainees abroad in Italian jails

An estimated 3,246 Tunisian citizens are detained outside of Tunisia. Most of them, or 2,037, are detained in different Italian prisons on charges of illegal immigration, drug trafficking, human trafficking and murder, the president of the parliamentary commission for Tunisians abroad, Ibtissem Jebabli said Tuesday.
