Date export revenues edge up 31%

The date export revenues for the current season (October 1, 2017-May 9, 2018) increased by  31% in value, reaching 597,887 million dinars (MD) against 458,045 MD during the same period in 2017.

In volume, Tunisia exported about 101,000 tonnes of dates during the current season against 88,000 tonnes during the previous one, i.e. 15% increase, the Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries Ministry said Friday.

This jump is due to the improvement of the export pace towards classic markets, such as Morocco (+27%), Spain (56%) and France (+10%) and the 97% rise in exported quantities towards the United States of America.
