Tunisia foreign investments up 17.7 pct in H1

Foreign investments in Tunisia jumped by 17.7 % in the first half of this year, Tunisian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Zied Laadhari said on Tuesday.

“The government is currently promoting investment potentials in different regions of the country,” said Laadhari.

“Nowadays, it will be necessary to achieve equal opportunity for development in all regions of the country,” the official said.

Laadhari announced that a high-level global conference, to be held in Tunis in September, will unveil over 20 public-private partnership projects.

He recalled that “the regional development program mobilised 2,000 million dinars transferred to regional councils in April 2018”, when  speaking  at a workshop organised by the Ministry in collaboration with the German Agency for International Co-operation (GIZ) on “Regional Development and the Decentralisation Plan.”

He indicated that “the government is endeavouring to promote the potential for investment in the regions and Tunisia’s destination at the international level.”
