National system of civil status management launched in partnership with AfDB

The unique identifier and the reform of the national system of civil status management, two major projects in the field of ICT were launched two days ago in partnership between the Ministry of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

These two projects consist in establishing the digital identity based on a unique identifier that helps natural and legal persons to access e-administrative services and the launch of the vital transformation initiative.

The reform of the national system of civil status management aims to materialise the vision of a modern administration in service of the citizens, through an efficient and optimised civil status system.

The project aims to develop a key digital solution, whose final beneficiary is the Ministry of Local Affairs and Environment, for the conception and implementation of the new national system of civil status management.

At a meeting at the UTICA headquarters organised by the Tunis Junior Chamber of Economy on the theme “Africa IT, Africa differently, Director at the Ministry of Communication Technologies and Digital EconomyAhmed Chabchoub said that these two projects are intended to support the implementation of the “Digital Tunisia 2020” strategic national plan, aimed to position Tunisia as an international and African reference for digital development.

“By opening up more to the African continent, we will target more than one billion consumers instead of 11 million Tunisian users,” he noted
