The Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that the navy of Tunisia has saved 18 illegal migrants of different African nationalities of the southeast coast.
The statement is quoted as saying that “The rescue operation took place 50 kilometres southeast of the city of Zarzis in the province of Medenine,”
It also added that “They confirmed that they had sailed from Libya towards the Italian coast”.
The ministry of interior said on Saturday that it has stopped 2 illegal immigration attempts off Sfax coast, 94 illegal immigrants were arrested.
