Hundreds of women took to the streets in the Tunisian capital on Saturday to demand equal inheritance rights as men, a subject often seen as taboo in the Arab world. The North African Muslim country grants women more rights than other countries in the region, and since last year has allowed Muslim women to marry non-Muslim men. Talan Tunisia will hire 1,000 engineers by 2020

Technology services company Talan will hire 1,000 Tunisian engineers by 2020. Talan Founder and President Mahdi Hawas said the company’s recruitment strategy will be implemented over three years; 250 engineers will be hired in 2018, 350 in 2019 and 450 in 2020. An academy will be created and tasked with competence building through training sessions for engineers and other graduates, the purpose being to adapt training to the requirements of international markets. National Day of Victory over Terrorism Ben Guerdane commemorates on Wednesday the resistance of the armed forces and citizens against the attack two years ago carried out by a group of ISIS terrorists who were trying to gain control of military and civil targets in the city. Tunisia unveils 2nd locally-manufactured patrol boat

Tunisia unveiled its second locally-manufactured patrol boat on Monday in the eastern port city of Sfax. The vessel was built by SCIN, a local shipbuilding company, under the supervision of Tunisian army officers and engineers. According to SCIN general manager Wasim Qawbaa, the patrol boat is 27 meters in length and is capable of travelling at speeds of up to 25 knots per hour. “The cost of building the ship domestically was 40 percent less than if it had been purchased from a foreign manufacturer,” Qawbaa said. Government suspends all job offers in Gafsa phosphate production sites until resumption of production
