EU ‘SouthMed WiA’ audiovisual project launched in Tunis

A project titled “SouthMed WiA”, co-financed by the European Union and aimed at promoting the image of women in audiovisual products in Southern Mediterranean countries, was launched in Tunis as part of the 28th edition of the Carthage Film Festival. Tunisian annual inflation rises to 5.8 percent in October

 Tunisia’s annual inflation rate rose to 5.8 percent in October from 5.5 percent in September, the highest rate since the 5.7 percent recorded in April 2015, official data showed on Monday. The food and drink price index rose 7.2 percent in October from a year earlier. Clothing and footwear prices rose by 7.9 percent, the state statistics office said. The central bank raised its key interest rate from 4.75 percent to 5.00 percent in May, the second hike in a month, in a bid to ease inflationary pressures. Reuters

Tunisia to get €122M from AfDB to boost growth in 16 governorates

 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) will grant Tunisia a loan of €122 million ($141.6 million) to back the second phase of its inclusive regional development support programme (PADRI-II), we learnt last Friday.
