Tunisia has thwarted 12 illegal immigration attempts to Italy over the last two days, says a statement issued by the Tunisian National Guard on Saturday. The statement, posted on its official Facebook page, said the immigration attempts were foiled off the coast of the provinces of Sousse, Nabeul and Msaken. Tunisia Receives Loan for Submarine Power Cable Project

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced its approval of a €45 million loan to Tunisian electricity and gas company (STEG) for the development of a submarine power cable linking Tunisia and Italy. This funding will contribute to the construction of a 200-kilometer, 600 MW high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission network.
